Animation Tests

A swap out longer neck was tested to determine if Mingo was able to hit specific poses, particularly if he was looking at himself. Pupil shrinkage and beak secondary motion was also tested.

Puke Shot Fabrication

The challenge of the vomit was to make sure that it moved and read as a liquid but still fit within the cute visual style of the film.

The vomit was made of Van Aken clay mixed with glitter and Propoxy pieces to resemble the shrimp. The stream was animated on a wire to control the arc from the beak to the ground. Finally, brushing on a layer of baby oil every frame gave it the shine it needed to read as a liquid.
